In today's Times, "Seattle Sketcher" Gabriel Campanario shares a sketch and his thoughts on Seattle's favorite street. He refers to the recent comments by Bremerton's Mayor Cary Bozeman, who accurately audaciously called out Seattle for the "visual garbage" along Aurora Ave. And Campanario agrees. How about you?
Campanario is may be onto something with his comments pertaining to Aurora as an eyesore. But he may also be unwittingly prophetic when it comes to some of his other observations. Perhaps his reminder that Aurora means "dawn" is indication of the shaping of things to come for Auroraworld, i.e., there are good things on the horizon. In fact, for almost the past two years neighborhood groups, individuals, and businesses have come together and have been working with various departments from the city to explore the future of Aurora. Check out here and here for more information.
By the way, did you notice that the Aurora elephant is appropriately absent from Campanario's sketch?
